Sharon Norton
Born in Sacramento, California
Raised in the small town of Woodland, California. Sharon started creating art at a very young age. School was always a struggle for her over active mind so she was placed in a learning assisted classroom at the age of 10. Here she was introduced to more art in the classroom along with the basic Math, Science and English curriculum. Her struggles became less and her love for art grew. For this very reason, Sharon is a strong advocate for more art in the classroom to help foster creativity and development on many fundamental levels. In Junior High she had her first formal art class at the age of 12 and just kept blooming from there. As a high school student she had the pleasure of participating in a student exhibition at the Crocker Art Museum. In 1992 she attended the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) Visual Arts Program.
Sharon has a degree in Multimedia. With this she has the opportunity to use her love of creativity in the modern world of marketing.
Over the years, Sharon’s works have ranged from commissioned portrait paintings of friends, family and pets to California landscapes. With a vibrant pop-art style, her artwork is a lively display of favorite subjects.
With her son in Elementary School, Sharon often volunteers to help with art in the classroom hoping to pass along the love of art to more young children. Sharon donates her time and money to local Sacramento grade schools whenever possible.
